Important News from The Supper Studio & Studio To Go
Dear Loyal Customers,
I hope this letter finds you all doing well. I know that you have all been wondering for quite some time, what is going on around here. The story is quite lengthy, but I will do my best to share with you what has happened at The Supper Studio and Studio To Go.
As you all know, The Supper Studio and Studio To Go were closed for a few weeks to enjoy the holidays. Shortly after Christmas, I was approached by someone with an offer to buy The Supper Studio and Studio To Go. Some of you may not be aware of this, but in addition to being a small business owner, I am also a single mother. I firmly believe that everything in life happens for a reason. So, with that in mind, I decided that, at this time in my life, this decision was best for my daughter and myself. I accepted. Because I was under a "privacy" contract, I was unable to discuss any of these details with my customers or the public. This is why you received the e-mail early in January vaguely discussing changes. I wanted you to know what was going on, but was limited in what I was allowed to discuss. The potential buyers were to continue The Supper Studio and Studio To Go, as well as add a new twist of their own. As of two weeks ago, when the sale was coming to a close, the buyers and myself were faced with an impossible challenge. Because the lease on The Supper Studio and Studio To Go was up for renewal, and the Southdowns Shopping Center is undergoing quite a facelift, the owners of the shopping center decided to only renew the lease with a 200% increase in rent and a long-term lease. Due to the vast size of the space here, these conditions were nowhere near in our favor. After two weeks of intense negotiations not only with the potential buyer, but also with the owners of the shopping center, an agreement could not be reached. These new lease terms have made it impossible for not only the potential buyer, but also for me to stay and continue operating. I am saddened to say, that The Supper Studio and Studio To Go are permanently closed.
I know that many of you have gift certificates that you either purchased or received as gifts or won off the radio. Every provision was made with the potential buyer to honor those gift certificates. I have every intention of seeing that through even in light of the new regrettable circumstance. If you received a gift certificate in 2007, you will be compensated in the form of a refund. Any gift certificate expiring before December 1, 2007, is no longer valid. The "expiration date" on the gift certificate must read December1, 2007 or later. Here's how that will work. If you received a gift certificate for a particular service, we will send you a check for the value of that service. If you received a gift certificate for a particular denomnation, the refund will be in the amount of that denomination. If you received your gift certificate from WFMF "Half Off Hook-Ups", you will be refunded the $25 you paid for it. If your gift certificate came from winning an auction at an event or fundraiser, unfortunately, we have no access whatsoever to who received them, or how much was donated for them. These types of gift certificates were a 100% donation on our part, therefore your monies will be viewed as a donation to that particular charity or organization and will NOT be refunded. We apologize in advance for this inconvenince, but hope you can view that your money went to a good cause. Please understand that we are doing the absolute best we can in the current adverse situation.
To obtain this refund, please mail your ACTUAL GIFT CERTIFICATE, NAME AND FORWARDING ADDRESS to the following address, no later than a postmark of MARCH 1, 2008. Any gift certificates received after this date will NOT be processed as all accounts will be closed at that point. Again, the gift certificate MUST have an expiration date of December 1, 2007 OR LATER. Again, these must be POSTMARKED by MARCH 1, 2008. Please mail them to:

Again, I want to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or trouble this situation causes any of you. It is a very unfortunate situation for us all. I would like to take this time to thank you all for your kindness, your patronage, and your loyalty over the last three years. This is a story with no happy ending, but most certainly a silver lining. I have learned so much, not only about business, but also about myself and all of you. These are wonderful life lessons and relationships I will not forget, and I have all of you to thank. I hope to see you all someday out and about in the community. Take care, God bless, and thank you again for your invaluable gifts to me and to The Supper Studio.
Warmest Regards,
Whitney Talbot Cushing Owner, The Supper Studio
